Saturday, June 25th, is the Pirate Faire and Festival in San Diego. From 10am-6pm, the Four Points by Sheraton San Diego will be over-run with scurvy sea dogs. Enjoy hundreds of costumed re-enactors, live music and entertainment, educational programs, and, of course, battles! This festival is full of fun and even throws in a little history lesson now and then, so bring the whole family. Ticket prices range from $17 for adults to free for kids under the age of four.
We had to double up on events for this Saturday because we just couldn't choose between the pirates and the chili! This Saturday is also the 32nd Annual OB Street Fair &; Chili Cook-Off Festival. Thousands of people will congregate on Newport Avenue in OB to enjoy live music and entertainment, unique vendors, artists creating a community mural, the thirst-quenching beer garden, and the chili, of course! For a full list of the bands set to perform, click here. The festival starts at 10am and goes all day, so be sure to get out and sample some chili!
If you've gotten to know us at all over the past couple of months, you may have noticed a trend. We like beer. We especially love all the local companies brewing delicious craft beer right here in San Diego, which is why we love telling you about any and every event that has to to with San Diego craft brewery events. All weekend long, from June 24th-26th, the San Diego International Beer Festival will be happening at the Del Mar Fairgrounds during the San Diego County Fair. Each four-hour session included a souvenir tasting cup and unlimited one-ounce beer samples - that's right, we said unlimited samples. There will be over 150 breweries with 350 beers from all around the world for you to enjoy. The festival will be happening Friday night from 5-9pm, Saturday from 11am-3pm and 4-8pm, and Sunday from 1-5pm in the Chevrolet Del Mar Arena. Tickets to the festival cost $45 per session, which includes admission to the fair as well. You must be 21 or older to purchase wristband vouchers.
