Family fun, free concerts, and a celebration of local music are what it’s all about this week in San Diego. Summer may be winding down, but we aren’t running out of fun things for you and your family to do just yet!
If you haven’t checked out the new exhibit, Boundless Energy, at the Birch Aquarium, now is the perfect time. You can receive a free child admission with a paid adult by using this coupon, which expires September 6th. Boundless Energy is an interactive exhibit that encourages you to use natural forces like the renewable energy of the wind, sun, and waves, to power your life.
Enjoy live music in Spreckels Park on Coronado every Sunday, through September 11th, with the Coronado Promenade Concerts. This Sunday, August 7th, Liquid Blue will perform. Liquid Blue is a San Diego-based band that has traveled and performed all over the word to sold-out crowds. The concert will begin at 6pm, so be sure to get there early and bring a blanket or your lawn chairs to stake out the perfect spot.
Monday, August 8th, is the 21st annual San Diego Music Awards at Humphrey’s Concerts by the Bay. Celebrate the very best in local music and enjoy performances from Cuckoo Chaos, Dynamite Walls, Wavves, The Silent Comedy and many more. The Penetrators will receive this year’s lifetime achievement award. The awards begin at 7pm and tickets are still available. You can buy them here.
